Helen M. Fears

Helen Marie Fears, daughter of
the late Inez (Hampton) Snider and
Nelson Snider, was born in Reynolds
County on Aug. 5, 1946. She
passed away at Mercy Hospital in
Springfield on Sept. 15, 2017, at
the age of 71.
On Nov. 4, 1967, on the family
farm in Ellington, Helen was united
in marriage to Stanley Fears and
to this loving union four sons were
born. He preceded her in death
on Nov. 18, 2003. Helen enjoyed
camping, hunting and fishing. Her greatest joy was the time she
got to spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by three sons, Gregory (Teresa) Fears Springfield,
Randy Fears of Pineville, Rodney (Shawna Marie) Fears
of Ellington; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two
brothers, James Snider and Steve Snider both of Ellington; three
sisters, Louise Fortner of Ellington, Lois Hulvey of Imperial and
Rosemary Parkhill of Ellington. Helen will be deeply missed by
her family and many friends who will mourn her passing.
Visitation and funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 18 at
McSpadden Funeral Home; with Pastor Ron Fears officiating.
Burial was in Hampton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were:
Greg, Randy, Rodney, Trenton, Chance and Dakota Fears.
Arrangements were under the direction of McSpadden Funeral
Home in Ellington.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hampton Cemetery
Association.
