Ola V. Goebel

Ola V. Goebel, 94, of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of Mill Spring, Mo., passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Westchester House, Chesterfield, Mo.

She was born April 10, 1923, at Mill Spring, Mo., daughter of Charlie and Pearl (Boatwright) Smith. Ola lived many years in the St. Louis area before spending her last years near Chesterfield. She was united in marriage to Kermit Goebel and to this union nine children were born. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. After her children were grown she often babysit. She also enjoyed reading and listening to Kitty Wells songs.

Ola is survived by her children, Bob Wayne Goebel and wife Barta of O’Fallon, Mo., Ronald Owen Goebel and wife Janie of Troy, Mo., Sandra sue Featherston and husband Marshall of Wentzville, Mo., Judith Kay Sargent of Greenville, Mo., Kimberly Ann Stegman of St. Louis, Mo., Tammie Lee Siebels and husband Mike of Waterloo, Ill., Pamela Dee Mardirosian and husband Lee of Columbia, Ill.; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ora Smith of Mill Spring, Mo., Ottis Smith of Leesburg, Mo.; daughter in law Gloria of St. Louis, Mo..

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kermit; son, Kermit Eugene Goebel; brother, Olan Smith; sisters, Osa Webb, Opal Gentles and Ollie Smith.

Visitation was held Friday, January 5, 2018, from 4:30-8:00 p.m., at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, Mo. Services followed Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., also at the Piedmont chapel. Pastor Debbie Coleman ministered to the family. Bob Sargent, Sean Goebel, Aaron Goebel, Mike Siebels, Lee Mardirosian,  and Albert Ziegalmeyer served as pallbearers.
