The sirens will be screaming during the 2nd Annual Safety Safari to be held at the Lazy L Safari Park on October 20, 2012 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Safety Safari is an annual special event presented by Lazy L Safari Park and Discovery Playhouse both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  This year’s sponsors for the event are Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center and PC Wellness Center.
Children will be able to meet local heroes such as the Dare Officer and see an ambulance and fire truck up close – sirens and all!  There will be hands-on demonstrations and activities on bullying, backpack safety, fire safety, family emergency preparedness, and animal safety presented by the sponsors and others.   “Carnival games, face painting, and sno cones will also be a part of the festivities that day” says Vicki Lantz, Zoo Director at Lazy L Safari Park.
Sarah Powell of Discovery Playhouse states “We started this event last year and plan on making it an annual fundraising activity.  A portion of the admission fee benefits the Education Programming at Discovery Playhouse.”   For more information on Safety Safari you can visit either Discovery Playhouse website at on Lazy L’s website.
Lazy L Safari Park located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri is a walk-thru zoo featuring animals from Antelope to Zebras.  Visitors can get up close and personal with over 40 different species of exotic animals.  You’ll also find a petting zoo, gift shop, picnic shelter, and snack shack.  Enjoy a family picnic alongside our animal friends as you ………. Take a Walk on the Wild Side!
