On Sept. 13, Ethyllon Wilton was recognized by the Modern Woodmen of America as a Hometown Hero for the countless hours of service he has provided to the Piedmont community. Wilton was presented with a certificate and a $100 award grant, to be presented to the charitable organization of his choice.
Wilton was honored for his fine woodworking skills and maintenance abilities that he donates to several churches in the Piedmont area.
God has been a very important part in the life of Wilton and his family. His faith is grounded in the King James version of the Bible. He is a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Piedmont.
The Hometown Hero program provides a way to thank those who give back to the community and encourages others to volunteer.
