Elzie Tony Sutton, 72, of DeSoto, Mo., died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Festus, Mo. 

He was born on Feb. 11, 1941, to Oscar Sutton and Ivy Sutton nee West in Lodi, Mo.

Elzie grew up in the Lodi area and spent his adulthood in St. Charles and DeSoto. 

On July 23, 1960, Elzie married Wanda M. Hinkle, and, to this union, five children were born.

He spent nine years repairing transmissions at Transmissions To Go. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and playing horseshoes.

Elzie was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angela Sutton; seven brothers, Mark, Herchel, Charles Paul, Clyde, Clardy, Tony, and Howard; and two sisters, Betty Sutton and Freda Prunard.

He is survived by three sons, Steven of DeSoto, Tom and his wife, Esther, of Pacific, and Robert and his wife, Cassie, of DeSoto; one daughter, Sandra Manasco of Festus, 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Delzie of Cave Springs; one sister, Wilma (Lee) Seals of Herculaneum.

Visitation was Friday, June 7, at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville. Services followed Friday, June 8, also at the chapel in Greenville. Burial was in Lewis Cemetery near Lodi. Rev. Charles Sutton  ministered to the family, and Danny Hinkle, Joe Manasco, Steven Sutton, Tom Sutton, Robert Sutton, and Tim Sutton served as pallbearers.
