The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake has announced its 2014 schedule of special events at Wappapello Lake. These events are free to attend and family oriented. "Without the support of our various partners and business community, it would become extremely difficult to successfully carry out these events," said Lake Manager Cindy Wood.

Clearwater’s Dayvon Slack, seated at center, signed a National Letter of Intent Monday afternoon to attend Mineral Area College in the fall and play basketball. Allie Holmes signed a national letter of intent to play college volleyball next year at Lindenwood University in Belleville, Ill. Holmes is currently a senior at Clearwater High School and had a stand-out season as a senior. She won many honors including being named Black River League Player of the Year, All-District, All-Region, and Second-Team All-State. She is pictured with her parents, Stacey and Tim Holmes (seated), and Lindenwood’s head volleyball coach, Justin Wells. Holmes plans to obtain a bachelor degree in biology/nursing.
Members of the Three Rivers College Rodeo team recently visited Community Living Center (nursing home) residents at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. The team explained their events, enjoyed conversations with the Veterans, and provided them with tickets to the upcoming college rodeo.
