Emma L. Thompson

Emma Lou Thompson, daughter of the late Ellen (Nash) Williams and Harry Williams, was born at Bunker on Jan. 5, 1931. She passed away at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on April 12, 2017, at the age of 86.
On Nov. 8, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., Emma was united in marriage to Robert L. Thompson Sr., he preceded Emma in death on Jan. 4, 2009. Emma was later married to Howard Nash on Sept. 10, 2010. Emma is a member of the Bunker First Baptist Church, her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed spending summers in Colorado and she enjoyed the time she spent with her church family and family gatherings.
Emma is survived by her husband, Howard Nash of Bunker; one daughter, Carole (John) Boyer of St. Louis; three sons, Robert L. (Janet) Thompson Jr. of Viburnum, Alex (Cindy) Grant of Highland, Mich., Dave (Marcia) Grant of Arnold; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Juanita Williams of Miami, Fla., Betty (Arthur) Tucker of Lebanon and Sadie Khan of Union City, Calif. Emma will be deeply missed by her family and many friends who will mourn her passing.
Visitation was held Friday, April 14 at  McSpadden Funeral Home in Bunker. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 15 also at the funeral home; with Pastor Tom Wisdom officiating. Burial was in the Catholic Church Cemetery in Viburnum. Serving as pallbearers were: John Boyer, Ryan Boyer, James Cook, Christopher Grant, Nicholas Grant and Mark Stevens. Arrangements were under the direction of McSpadden Funeral Home in Bunker. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bunker Union Church.
