Middleton, Ruble Named South Iron’s Top Graduates

South Iron High School has announced its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2017.
The valedictorian for the South Iron R-1 School District is Ms. Kallie Middleton.  Kallie is the daughter of Roland and Mary Beth Middleton of Vulcan.  Kallie will graduate first in her class of 22 with a 4.0 GPA.  She plans on attending Mineral Area College to major in Radiology.
Kallie has won awards for History, Business, Personal Finance, Biology, English, Government, Chemistry, and Psychology.  Kallie has received the A Honor Roll Patch, and the President’s Award every year of high school.  Kallie will also be receiving the A+ Scholarship.
Kallie has been a member of Senior Beta for four years and has served as president.  She has been a member of Student Council for four years and has served as secretary.  Kallie is the Senior Class vice president.
Kallie enjoys hunting, fishing, riding her four-wheeler, and hanging out with her friends.
The salutatorian for the South Iron R-1 School District is Mr. Landon Ruble.  Landon is the son of Lester and Sherry Ruble of Annapolis Mo. and will graduate with a 3.91 GPA.  Landon plans on attending Mineral Area College in the fall of 2017, majoring in Construction and Building Technology.
Landon will receive the A+ Scholarship from the South Iron R-1 School.  Landon was a Scholar Athlete in 2014, 2015, and 2016.  He won the President’s Education Award in 2014, 2015, and 2016.  Landon played varsity baseball for his entire high school career.  Landon was All-District and All-Conference for baseball in 2016.  Landon has been a member of Senior Beta from 2014 until 2017.  He has served as treasurer for the Senior Beta Club.
