Joy Hill

Joy Fred Hill, son of the late Florence Idalee (Asberry) Hill and Wilburn Lee Hill, was born at Corridon on Dec. 15, 1933. He passed away at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on April 21, 2017, at the age of 83.
Joy was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Barnesville Masonic Lodge #353 and the Ellington V.F.W. Joy was saved and baptized in 1951, by Bro. Leon Jolly in Ferguson. Joy was a very talented man he created many beautiful works of art with wood. He was also gifted with being able to play many instruments. Joy owned and operated an upholstery shop from 1976 until 1996. He was also a career railroad man.
Joy is survived by his companion, Dianne Henning of Ellington and Diane’s brothers and sisters. Also, Dianne’s children and grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will deeply mourn his passing.
Visitation was held Monday, April 24 with a Masonic Service following at McSpadden Funeral Home. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 25 at the funeral home, with Geraldine Rains officiating. Burial was in Polk Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Harood Bennett, Jordan Branham, Trenton Price, David Martin, Wayne Swyres and David Swyres.
Arrangements were under the direction of McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home.
