Betty J. Lewis

Betty Jane Lewis, 73, of Fenton, Mo., formerly of Wayne County, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She was born on Nov. 25, 1943, to the late Earl Allison, Sr. and Gladys Ellen (Luke) Malin, in Wayne County.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by: her brother, Louis Nathaniel Malin, her brother-in-law, Hadley Lewis and her sister-in-law, Norma Gilliand.

She is survived by her husband of over fifty years, Harold Lewis; daughter, Lisa Bazzell and her husband Dennis of Fenton, Mo.; two brothers, Earl Allison Malin, Jr., and his wife Sharon of St. Louis, Mo.; and William Dale Malin and his wife Margarite of Hillsboro, Mo.; and one sister, Peggy Carter and her husband Earnest of Perry Hall, MD. Other survivors include two grandchildren, Shane Fraley and Emma Analiese Fraley; four step-grandchildren, Jesse Clay Bazzell, Jonathan D. Bazzell, Joseph Benjamin Bazzell, and Julia Michelle Bazzell; one brother-in-law, Rick Lewis and his wife Esther of Kirkwood, Mo.; three sister-in-laws:  Mary Francis Fenimore of Florrisant, Mo., Linda Lewis of Greenville, Mo., and Sue Hill of Piedmont, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty attended Dry Creek Primary School and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1961. On Oct. 12, 1963, Betty married Harold Lewis at New Liberty Church in Piedmont.

She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She loved to take care of people, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was most proud of her ability to take care of her mom, dad, mother-in-law, and grandchildren. She was humble but classy and always a blessing to her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Green Hill Cemetery.

Visitation and services were held Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery near Piedmont. Bro. Dennis Bazzell ministered to the family. Shane Fraley, Jonathan Bazzell, Steven Lewis, Rick Lewis, Bill Northcutt and Earl Malin Jr. served as pallbearers.  Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
