Billy Porter
Billy G. Porter, 74, of Greenville, Mo., passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at his residence. He was born July 21, 1943, to the late Owen Eugene Porter and Mildred (Abney) Porter in Dexter, Mo. He spent his childhood in Sikeston, MO, and graduated from Sikeston High School.
Billy honorably served two tours of duty in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service.
On Nov. 9, 1991, Billy married the love of his life, Wanda Dugas, and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Scott Porter of Shreveport, La.; one daughter, Susan Rogers and her husband Shane of Lowndes, Mo.; one step-son, Wade Dugas and his wife Romana of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one brother, Bob Porter of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; seven grandsons, Dakota Porter, Dylon Porter, Dustin Porter, Kyle Dugas, Chance Rogers, Trevor Rogers, and Logan Rogers, and many nieces and nephews.
He worked as a bookkeeper for Mills Iron Supply for many years. He also served his community as a pastor for twenty years. He loved to pester his wife Wanda and enjoyed watching football with her. He was a loving husband, father, and a wonderful grandfather.
