• Route 49 in Iron and Reynolds Counties will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pug milling.
This section of roadway is located from Route 32 to Route A.
Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, Sept. 12 through Thursday, Sept. 14 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Open to local traffic only.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

• Route N in Wayne County will be closed while Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
This section of road is located between Route 34 to the end of state maintenance.
Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday Sept. 5 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Open to local traffic only.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

• Route A in Iron County will be CLOSED while Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of road is located from Route 32 to Route 49.

The work zone will be OPEN TO LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY and will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

• The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission is planning to replace bridges on Route 21 and Route 49 in Iron County.
The Route 21 project involves replacing the bridge over Carver Creek, located approximately 2.2 miles west of the intersection of Route 21/72/49 near Glover, Mo.
The Route 49 project involves replacing the bridge over Big Creek, located approximately 1.5 miles south of Annapolis, Mo.
The projects are expected to be let in May 2018, with construction anticipated as early as summer 2018.
As construction is underway on Route 21, the roadway will be reduced to a single lane with temporary signals in place.
As construction is underway on Route 49, the roadway will be closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the bridge.
Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation, or interested agency, will be available for public inspection and copying at the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main Street, Sikeston, MO 63801.
Any person affected by this project may request that a public hearing be held in regard to the proposed improvements.
Requests for a public hearing should be in writing and must be submitted to District Engineer Mark Shelton at P.O. Box 160, Sikeston, MO 63801, by Sept. 27, 2017.
