Mary O. Botkin
Mary Ollie (Hamilton) Botkin, born Sept. 20, 1935, in Chidester, Ark. to the late Loyce and Mary Elizabeth (Neal) Hamilton, departed this life on Sept. 26, 2017, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, at the age of eighty-two years and six days.
Mary was a member of the Centerville First Baptist Church. She served as the chairman for Red Cross for 10 years, a member of the Relay for Life Reynolds County team, a member of the Baptist women’s mission, the First Baptist Church Secretary. She enjoyed singing in the choir, sewing, cooking, shopping, gardening, camping and traveling; but her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
On July 16, 1955, Mary was united to DeWayne Botkin in St. Louis. To this union two daughters were born.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, DeWayne Botkin of Centerville; two daughters, Mary Catholine (Michael) Drake of Pacific and Janet Raye (Gregory) Haupt of St. Louis; five grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Franklin (Jo) Hamilton, Jimmy (Sheila) Hamilton and Johnny (Joyce) Hamilton all of Camden, Ark.; two sisters, Margaret Kelley of Alma, Ark. and Linda Hodnett of Camden, Ark.; as well as many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Visitation and funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 30 at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington; with Bro. Patrick Pyles officiating. Burial was in Ellington Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Taylor, Ethan, Elijah Cole, Dakota Kinnamore, Steven King, Michael Conway and Joey Kersten.
