Barbara J. (Darr) Guthier
Barbara Jean (Darr) Guthier, 88, died Oct. 16, 2017, at her home in Crestwood. Mrs. Guthier was a homemaker. Born May 13, 1929, in Ellington, she was the daughter of Darl Dallas Darr and Lillian Grace (Meade) Darr.
She is survived by her son: Tom (Debbie) Knuckles of Festus, a son-in-law Pat Galczynski of St. Charles and a step son George A. (Norma) Guthier of Moline Acres. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren: Eric (Jennifer) Knuckles of Glendale, Nathan (Kristina) Knuckles of Orlando, Fla., Ryan (Melissa) Knuckles of Arnold and Tricia Galczynski of St. Charles. Step grandchildren: Kim (Tony) Busby of St. Louis, Pam Dorrough of St. Louis and Steve Guthier of St. Louis. Great grandchildren surviving are: Reid, Annelise, Connor, Kylie and Hunter Knuckles. Step great grandchildren are: Jeremy and Sarah Busby, Jessica and Alex Dorrough. Also surviving are her brothers Bill (Virgina) Darr of Springfield, Don Darr of Sunset Hills and sister Rose Rayfield of Ozark in addition to sisters in law Mary Darr of Crestwood, Joyce Darr of Rolla, Karen Darr of Branson, former sister in law Wanda Darr of Crestwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years, Henry; brothers, James, Stanley and Ron Darr; and her daughter, Carol Galczynski; sister-in-laws, Elaine Darr and Tippy Darr; and a brother-in-law, Winston Rayfield.
She also leaves to mourn her passing many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends and special caregivers, Kelly Flores and Barb Schuler. A special thank you to Pathways for providing excellent hospice care.
Funeral services were held Oct. 21 at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton with Pastor Bill Simmons officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
