Update: Iron County Murder Suspect In Custody
The Iron County Sheriff’s Department is currently looking for a suspect in an early morning shooting that took place on Monday, Nov. 6.
Thomas Bentimiglia, 35, was shot at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning and subsequently died from a gunshot wound. Investigators are currently searching for William King in connection to the shooting.
King is wanted on charges of first degree murder. While a motive is not clear as of yet, the shooting is being investigated by the Iron County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri Patrol Crime Unit.
According to Sheriff Roger Medley, they have received several tips and are searching in areas with very limited cell service.
Medley said K9 units from the jail are coming in to assist in the search for King.
Do not approach or attempt to engage with the suspect. If you see the suspect, do not attempt to interact with them. Instead, call local law enforcement and inform them of your whereabouts. Persons with any information are encouraged to call the Iron County Sheriff’s Department at (573) 546-7051.
Update: William King is now in custody. He was apprehended on Tuesday, November 7 near a scrapyard on Highway 21 and Highway N.
