Van Buren In Need Of Christmas Lights

The City of Van Buren is asking for help in upholding their traditional Festival of Lights this year. Set to be held on December first, the annual Festival of Lights is a free at­traction in which people from all over are welcome to come enjoy a Christmas light dis­play.

However, after the devastat­ing flooding this past Spring, many of the city’s Christmas lights were lost. Stored in the courthouse, many of the lights, wreaths, bells, and decorations were swept away by floodwa­ters.

All is not lost however, as the city is open to donations of new and used Christmas deco­rations. Hoping to come to­gether as a community to over­come this obstacle, the city is accepting donations now through the first of December.
