Ardella M. Chitwood

Ardella Mae (Casey) Chitwood, daughter of the late George Washing­ton Casey and Emma (Massie) Casey was born July 7, 1923, at Ellington. She departed this life on Nov. 15, 2017, in Ellington at the age of 94.

She accepted Christ as her savior in 1943, she was a member of An­tioch Missionary Baptist Church for 64 years, where she served as church secretary for over 40 years. Ardella enjoyed fishing, needle working and she loved her red roses.

On Nov. 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Gerald Chitwood, to this union 3 children were born. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1979.

Those surviving two daughters, Sharon Bass of Ellington and Char­lotte Fordham of Collinsville, Okla.; and one son Clifford Chitwood of Ellington; two grandsons; four granddaughters; four great grand­sons; seven great granddaughters; one brother and four sister-in-laws, Gene and Regina Casey of Bloomsdale, Maudeline Burns of Elling­ton, Wilma Jean Finley of St. Louis and Magaline Chitwood of Poplar Bluff; and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

A visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 19 and funeral services Monday, Nov. 20; with Pastor Marvin Richards officiating and Pastor Kelly Chilton assisting. Burial followed in the Pumpkin Hollow Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington.
