Marjorie Ellen Ryan-Poynor

Marjorie Ellen Ryan-Poynor, 50, died at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Saint Louis University Hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1967, in Carlinville, Ill., the daughter of James B. and Guida (Gilbert) Ryan.

She was a waitress for many years and a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton.

Surviving are two daughters, Amanda Poynor of Alton and Emily Poynor of Piedmont, Mo., and two sons, Matthew Poynor and David Poynor both of St. Charles, Mo.,, and one grandchild, Hailey Marie, and one on the way, thirteen siblings, Patrick Ryan of Alton, Jack Ryan (Lek) of Austin, Texas, Norma Klein (Ronald) of Alton, Bill Ryan (Margaret) of Bethalto, Mary Weiss (Mark) of Bethalto, Marie Schulz(John) of Skandia, Mich., Joan Darr (Ray) of Alton, Sue Cowan of Alton, Janet Brooks (Kevin) of Eldred, Ill., Judy Maher (Rob) of Godfrey, Tom Ryan (Lisa) of Alton, Paul Ryan (Tracy) of Alton and Patricia Tolle (Jerry) of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Ryan.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton, Ill., with Father Jason Stone officiating.
