The Piedmont City Council held its February meeting Tuesday, Feb. 13. The public portion of the meeting lasted approximately three minutes.

The board approved minutes from the previous meeting and approved the accounts payable. Mayor Bill Kirkpatrick recommended that the city council table approving new park board members.

The council then voted to go into closed session to discuss personnel, litigation, real estate, and contracts.

On Friday, Feb. 16, the city posted notice that it planned to hold a special meeting at noon Tuesday. Items listed to be discussed were allowing the mayor, city distribution crew and temporary help for Highway HH water line repair and approving the purchase of a vacuum truck and applicator for the wastewater treatment plant sludge. The purchases of the truck and applicator would be with funds remaining from the 2010A Project Fund.
