Roy Thomas Boyer

Roy Thomas Boyer, 88, of Festus died Jan. 22, 2018, at his home. Mr. Boyer was the owner/operator of Boyer Construction and a member of Elks Lodge 1721 in Crystal City. He was born May 14, 1929, in Piedmont, the son of the late Richard and Lillie Bell Boyer.

He is survived by his longtime caregiver, Marian White of Festus; two children: Roy D. Boyer and Donna K. Orf, both of St. Charles; three brothers: John (Mary Ellen) Boyer of St. Charles, Edward (the late Peggy) Boyer of Piedmont and Robert (Rhonda) Boyer of Piedmont; three sisters: Alice (the late Clyde) Morris, Peggy (Ted) Casey and Ione (Raymond) Morris, all of Piedmont; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Carl Boyer and William “Bill” Boyer; and three sisters: Inez Boyer, Tessie Sutton and Ruth Patterson.

Mr. Boyer chose to donate his body to medical research. A memorial gathering was held Jan. 28, at Elks Lodge 1721, 4 Elks Lane, in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
