Jerry “Butch” Walker

Jerry Walker, known to most as “Butch” passed away Feb. 19, 2018, in Pilot Knob at the age of 68 years. He was born June 13, 1949 in Ironton, the son of the late Ottis and Maxine (Goggin) Walker.

On March 15, 1975, he was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Allen who survives. In addition to his parents Butch was preceded in death by his daughter, Summer Dawn Walker. Also surviving are his father and mother in law, Fred and Imogene Allen of Ellington; brother-in-law, Jeff (Monica) Allen of Ellington; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends survive.

Butch was a member of the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church. He enjoyed showing his horses at horse shows. He and Patti traveled all over the South Central states showing their horses, achieving many awards including World Championships. He was a member of the Tri County Horse Association, Missouri Western Quarter Horse Association, Illinois Quarter Horse and American Horse Associations.

Butch was a teacher of business education, drivers’ education, and the girls’ basketball coach for a total of 30 years in the Ellington and Lesterville School Districts.
