Local Granddaughter Headed to State
StateMany area residents are planning a trip to the Final Four to watch the Neelyville girls team compete for the Class 2 title. One of the players has grown up in area gymnasi-ums, primarily South Iron and Bunker. Tori has a name that is associated with basketball Harlow. She is the daughter of Rob Harlow and Stacey Har-low and the granddaughter of retired coach John Harlow and his wife, Stella of Annapolis.Neelyville won the right to play in the Final Four Saturday by beating Oran 79-61 in the quarterfinals at the Bess Ac-tivity Center in Poplar Bluff. This is the third straight game that Neelyville has downed a state-ranked team. In sectional play, Neelyville beat Hartville by 15. In the district champi-onship game, Neelyville beat undefeated Thayer by 16. Neelyville entered the post-season ranked fifth by the state coaches association. Thayer was ranked second, Hartville sixth, and Oran seventh.The Lady Tigers will face top-ranked Skyline in semifi-nal action at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at JQH Arena inin Springfield. Northeast-Cairo and Mid-Buchanan will face off in the other semifinal contest.
