Ruble, Buckner Win Seats on South Iron School Board
The race for South Iron R-1 Board of Education was the most highly contested race in the region. Michael Ruble and Joseph “Joe” Buckner were elected to three-year terms. The South Iron school district encompasses parts of three counties. The winners were not determined until the final votes were counted. Ten votes separated winner and loser.
Ruble received 246 votes–21 votes in Reynolds County and 225 in Iron County. Buckner had 231 votes–28 votes in Reynolds County and 203 in Iron County. David “Scotty” Middleton received 221 votes–9 votes in Reynolds County, 2 votes in Wayne County, 210 in Iron County. Clinton Miller had 169 votes–9 in Reynolds County, 1 in Wayne County, 150 votes in Iron County and Brian A. Pauley had 50 votes.
