Mary Joann Elder

Mary Joann Elder, age 79, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the Greenville Health Care Center in Greenville, Mo. She was born February 13, 1939, in Williamsville, Mo., the daughter of Charles Gilbert and Osie (Durrow) Gilbert.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Joann was married to William “Jack” Elder July 30, 1958 in Rockford, Ill., and he passed away in 2007.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, Charles Gilbert and Osie Gilbert-Crawford, 1 daughter, Angie Mae Everhart, 3 brothers, Floyd, James and Leon Gilbert, and 3 sisters, Dorothy Wisdom, Minnie Lashley and Ruth Garrett.

Survivors include 1 son, Jack Elder and his wife Sue, of Clubb, 5 grandchildren, Andrea Hahn and her husband Shannon, of Greenville, Kevin Elder, of Poplar Bluff, Brandon Hampton and his wife Sarah, of Greenville, Bryan Elder and his wife Meghan, of Clubb, and Brandi Keith and her husband Sean, of Fisk.

Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren, Brittney Schultz, Jenna Hahn, Haylee Hampton, Sean Hampton, Trinity Keith and Abby Keith, along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Center Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Leslie Burchard officiating. Virginia Crane sang for the service and Jody Fouts, Curt Fouts, John Peppers, Bryan Elder, Brandon Hampton and Shannon Hahn served as Pall Bearers. Kevin Elder was an Honorary Pall Bearer. Services were under the direction of Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel. Memorials to the family may be sent to the funeral home.
