Curtis Ray Kaempfe
Curtis Ray Kaempfe, age 67, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born March 29, 1951, in Perryville, Mo., the son of Leonard and Betty Jean (Mecker) Kaempfe.
Curtis was married to Sue Goodson Nov. 26, 1982, at St. Louis and had lived near Des Arc for many years. He was a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 513 in St. Louis for 30 years and had been attending First Baptist Church in Annapolis.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Leonard and Betty Jean Kaempfe and 2 brothers, Larry Allen Kaempfe and William Louis Kaempfe.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Kaempfe, of the home, 5 children, Jason Curtis Kaempfe and his wife Tammy, of Poplar Bluff, Carrie Renee Lutes and her husband Jonathan, of Des Arc, Lance Travis Kaempfe and his wife Megan, of Des Arc, Chad Daniel Kaempfe and his wife Cassandra, of Des Arc, and Danielle Casey Sale and her husband A.J., of Annapolis.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Hayley, Mikana, Brayden, Caitlyn, Easton, Airiann, Westlynn, Triton, Slate, Haisley, Emilee and Meghan, along with many other family and friends.
Curtis will be very deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Annapolis with Pastor Dan Pitchers and Rev. Steve Sale officiating. Ginger Pitchers led the congregation in singing and a special video was played for the service.
Memorials have been requested to “Super Sam Foundation Fighting Childhood Cancer” and may be sent to the funeral home. Services were under the direction of Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont.
