Hovis Wins Republican Nomination for 146th District State Rep.
Many Wayne Countians were closely watching the 146th District State Representative race. It featured a Wayne County native, Barry Hovis.
Hovis, a retired Cape Girardeau Police officer, won the Republican nomination. He defeated Tony LaForest 4,983 to 2,076. Hovis will face Democrat Gayla A. Dace in the November General Election.
