Leonard Edward Bilbrey
Leonard Edward Bilbrey, 87, of Williamsville, MO, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 6, 1931, in Piedmont, MO, to Ira and Ethel (Rainwater) Bilbrey.
Leonard was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He married Betty Lou Edgar on June 24, 1950, and they were blessed with three children.
He grew up in Williamsville and graduated as part of the Williamsville Class of 1950.
Leonard was a faithful member of the Williamsville Lions Club. He was a good family man and provider. He worked at Chrysler for twenty years before working at REA Express shipping company for twenty years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting squirrel and rabbit, and gardening (in his younger days). He loved to watch gameshows and enjoyed just riding around. Leonard attended Williamsville United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years; one son, Bobby Gene Bilbrey; one grandchild, Marcus Anthony Bilbrey; brothers, Donald Bilbrey and Ronnie Bilbrey; sisters, Clara Miller, Gleta Luke, Sandra Durrow, and Judy Smith.
Leonard is survived by his children: Larry Bilbrey and wife, Donna, of Monroe, Mich., Stephen Bilbrey and wife, Ruth, of Fenton, Mo.; grandchildren: Christopher, Scott, Kevin, and Kayla Bilbrey; brother, Norman Bilbrey and wife, Sandy, of McComb, Ill.; sisters, Minnie White and husband, Don, of Williamsville, Mo., and Norma Sommers of St. Genevieve, Mo.
Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville, Mo. Funeral service followed Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, also at the Williamsville chapel. Pastors Nelma Williams and Helen Edwards ministered to the family. Chris Bilbrey, Kevin Bilbrey, Scott Bilbrey, David White, Steven Willard and Kenneth Swesney served as pallbearers.
