Jason Ray Lewis
Jason Ray Lewis, “The Rev Jaystone”, was born July 30, 1975 in Poplar Bluff, MO and died August 9, 2019. His parents were Donald Ray Lewis and Sheila Fay (Sutton) Lewis. He has a full brother, Justin Thomas Lewis, a half brother, Donald Ray Lewis, Jr. and a half sister Valerie (Lewis) Henkel; his life companion, Kelly Lynn Cowsert, and his aunts and uncles, Brenda Ross, Phillip Lewis, Alex Lewis, Eric Lewis and Peggy (Lewis) Tilman. His paternal grandparents were Cubie Ray and Lorene (Albert) Lewis. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Virgil and Ruby Pearl (Hicks) Sutton.
Jason was a man who followed Christ, enjoyed life and loved to use his gift of writing to help uplift someone. He loved to make people laugh and loved great intelligent conversation. He always said death is the by product of life and a life not lived is a life wasted. So every day he tried to learn something new.
He was a writer, songwriter, poet, philosopher, singer and guitarist. He was in the band Anemic-Heretic and wrote music, songs and played his own music.
He always hoped that he used his talent to make a difference in someone’s life, gave them a kind word of encouragement, been a shoulder to cry on, and able to share sound wisdom to help uplift someone.
A graveside memorial ceremony of life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Redford Memorial Cemetery in Redford, MO with Rev. Wayne Street officiating.
