Verlie Holden

Verlie Nadine Holden, 90, of Eureka, MO, formerly of Wayne County, MO, passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Marymount Manor, Eureka, MO. She was born February 12, 1929, in Wayne County, to parents Harvey and Maggie (Hill) Seals.

Verlie was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. She married Claude Holden on June 28, 1946, and to this union three children were born. She was a member of Patterson Baptist Church. Verlie was a very helpful person who enjoyed making baby quilts for each new arrival of the family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-six years; daughter: Evonne Holden; brothers: Paul, Lee, and Glen Seals; sisters: Inez Walker, Opal Lunyou, Wilma Allen, Pauline Holden, Shirley Palmer.

Verlie is survived by children: Larry Holden and wife Tracey of St. Louis, MO, Karen Daffron and companion Albert Naumann of Manchester, MO; grandchildren: Angela Holden and companion Steve Sparks, and David Holden and wife Barbara.

Visitation was held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. Funeral Service followed at 2:00 pm, also at the Piedmont chapel. Pastor Jule Maskrod ministered to the family. Jason Seals, John Lunyou, Albert Naumann, Shane Seals, Steve Sparks, and Alex Ruegg served as pallbearers. Burial was at Duncan Cemetery, Piedmont.
