Thomas W. Shelton

Thomas W. Shelton, age 57, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born February 27, 1962, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., the son of William E. Shelton and Avis (Eaton) Shelton.

A lifelong resident of Piedmont, Tommy was a graduate of Clearwater High School and was a self employed carpenter.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Bill and Avis Shelton.

Survivors include his companion, Leigh Ann Lovelace, of Piedmont, 2 sisters, Bobbi Jo McFadden, of Piedmont, Fran Mann and her husband Babe, of Piedmont, 2 brothers, William Shelton and his wife Donna, of Piedmont and Carl Shelton, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Anita Patterson and her husband Kenny, of Des Arc, Chad Mann, of Piedmont, Lori Lloyd, of Piedmont, Chuck McFadden and his wife Danielle, of Poplar Bluff, Derek Shelton and his wife Coty, of Piedmont, Ryan Shelton and his wife Shelby, of Park Hills, Corey Shelton and his wife Allison, of Fenton, Alexis Shelton, of Fenton, along with many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Rev. Gary Rhodes officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Bobbi Jo McFadden read a poem and gave a eulogy. Derek Shelton, Ryan Shelton, Corey Shelton, Chuck McFadden, Eli Patterson, Corey Umfleet, Lane Lovelace and Jerrid Ross served as Pall Bearers. Garett Wilfong and Chad Mann were Honorary Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Eaton Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel.
