Eugene Gerald Woodcock II “Woody”

Eugene Gerald Woodcock II “Woody”, son of the late Eugene Wagner Woodcock and Josephine Appelonie Lietner, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 30, 1937. He departed this life at his residence in Lesterville, Missouri, on January 14, 2020, at the age of 82.

On February 10, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, Woody was united in marriage to Bobbie Jo Lowe and to this union five children were born, Debbie, Sharon, Ellen, Butch and Sandy. Bobbie preceded him in death on May 16, 2014, they were married for 60 years. Woody was a member and deacon of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Lesterville, Missouri. He was also a founding member of the Black River Jeep Club. Woody enjoyed building racing jeeps and dune buggies, crappie fishing at Lake of the Ozarks, decorating his home and church at Christmas time, visiting Branson to see the Christmas lights, Christmas for the Elderly, and dancing, especially with Bobbie. 

Woody is survived by five children, Debbie Woodcock Owen Smith and husband Charlie of Salem, Missouri, Sharon Woodcock Henson of Salem, Missouri, Ellen Woodcock Lester and husband David of Lesterville, Missouri, Eugene Butch Woodcock and wife Jill of Lesterville, Missouri, and Sandy Woodcock Lancaster and husband Tim of Lesterville, Missouri, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren,  and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Woody will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing. 

Visitation was Friday, January 17, 2020 at McSpadden Funeral Home, Lesterville, Missouri and the funeral was held Saturday, January 18, 2020, also at McSpadden Funeral Home.

Pastor Mark Winn ministered to the family. Pallbearers were Robby Owen, Chris Owen, Bobby Owen, Johnathon Norris, Justin Bennett, Blake Lancaster and Talon Johnson. Honorary pallbearer was Eugene Butch Woodcock. Buria was in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, Missouri
