Larry E. Crosley
Larry E. Crosley, 74, of Piedmont, Mo., passed away, Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born May 26, 1945, in Peach Orchard, Ark., to Earl and JoAnn (Grigsby) Crosley. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, during which he spent his time in Germany.
On July 23, 1967, he married Barbara Johnson, the love of his life.
Larry retired as a Foreman for the electric company after thirty years. He was a longtime member of the Piedmont Eagles, the American Legion, and the Masonic Lodge.
Larry was an avid hunter, storyteller, and dependable friend. Many have heard these stories while gathered around the family fire pit. He loved the outdoors and working with his hands.
He never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. He loved his family and his great companion; his dog, Bo.
He is preceded in death by both his parents. Larry is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, his three daughters: Diane Elkin and husband, Tony, of Piedmont, Stacy McAlister of Piedmont, and Annie Walenda and husband, Bruce, of Poplar Bluff; his grandchildren: Trenton and Zachery Elkin, Caden and Ethan McAlister, Rachael and Andy Walenda; one brother, Richard Crosley of Blue Ridge, Ga. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. Funeral service followed that afternoon, also at the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Pete Ruble ministered to the family. A heartfelt eulogy was provided by Diane Elkin.
Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont, with full military honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post 281, Piedmont. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
