Dorothy Maxine Marler
Dorothy Maxine Marler of Ironton, Mo., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 4 days. She was born October 20, 1933 in Flat River, Mo., to the late Riley Napolean and Alice Mae McEntire Phegley.
As a child Dorothy attended the Bismarck School system. On February 2, 1952, Dorothy was untied in marriage to the love of her life Alva Gene Marler who has been waiting in Heaven for her since September 5, 2018.
To this union four children were born; James Marler and wife Shirley of Arcadia, Dennis Marler of Fredericktown, Mo., Kevin Marler of Ironton, Mo., and Kathy Pollock of Park Hills, Mo., all of whom survive. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, all who Dorothy loved greatly and unconditionally.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by two grandchildren Mendy and Joseph, and two brothers John Riley and James Phegley.
Dorothy was a homemaker for many years, she worked for the Moreno Valley, Calif., School system, and was a member of the Stouts Creek Baptist Church.
A Life Celebration honoring Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Stouts Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington. Rev. Mike Hagerty will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stouts Creek Baptist Church.
