Sandra Beth Fiero (formerly Sandra Childress and Sandra Savage)

Sandra Beth Fiero (formerly Sandra Childress and Sandra Savage) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, age 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 29, 2020 at The Guest House Nursing Home.

Sandra was born March, 1942, in Maryville, Mo., to Chester and Marian Savage. She graduated from Clearwater High School in Piedmont, Mo., in 1960 and married Leon Childress of Piedmont the same year. They moved to St. Joseph, Mo., where she mostly resided until 1977. She moved to Baton Rouge in 1977 and married Ray Fiero in 1989. They were married 31 years but were together for 40 years. Sandra had a career as a professional piano player and singer. She belonged to Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge and enjoyed playing piano for their services.  

She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Fiero II of Baton Rouge, daughters Kelly Childress (California) and Lisa Irons (Kansas City), sister Gayle Di Fulvio (France), step-daughter Lorraine Grout (Baton Rouge), step-son Richard Fiero (Mississippi), step-brother Cortland Savage (New Mexico), and granddaughter Stephanie Lincoln (Kansas City). Sandra had 6 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great grandchild.

Sandra wished to donate her body to the LSU Medical School for medical research. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

    My best friend in high school. So talented and beautiful. Rest In Peace sandy, your life was often difficult but you are with God now.
