Ila Mae Romine

Ila Mae Romine, daughter of the late Leonard and Gladys Yates was born on July 15, 1933. She departed this life on February 1, 2020 at Brent B Tinnin Nursing Home in Ellington, Mo., at the age of 86.

Ila Mae was of Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, fishing, doing crafts, above all spending time with her family.

Ila Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Romine, one son, Larry Buxton, three brothers, Sylvan Yates, Larry Yates and Donald Yates and three sisters, Opal Jackson, Emma Bass and Evelyn Chitwood., one great grandson, Hunter Blanchette, and one great granddaughter, Mikayla Norris.

Ila is survived by one brother, Luin Yates of Doniphan, Mo.; three daughters, Judy (Ed) Santhuff of Oak Grove, Mo.., Cathy (Newman) of Sevierville, Tenn.., and Angie Sutton of St. Louis, Mo.., two sons, Randy (Stevie) Buxton of Ellington, Mo., and Rick (Ranae) Buxton of Republic, Mo., one stepson, Frankie (Tilsa) Romine of Poplar Bluff, Mo., daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Rick) Rayfield of Ellington, Mo., 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Ila Mae will be missed by a host of relatives and friends who will lovingly remember her.

Visitation was Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri. Funeral services were Thursday, February 6, 2020, at McSpadden Funeral Home.  Pastor Mike Nichols ministered to the family.

Pallbearers: were Chris Santhuff, Clint Santhuff, Clayton Sutton, Cole Buxton, Patrick Thomas and Bobby Boyer. Burial was in Rumberg Cemetery in Shannon County.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements were by McSpadden Funeral Homes, Ellington, Missouri.
