Betty Jean Flowers

Betty Jean Flowers, daughter of the late Frank Thomas Parson and Theda Lucille Whitchurch, was born in Bounds, Missouri, on January 21, 1935. She departed this life at Brent B. Tinnin Manor in Ellington, Missouri, on February 19, 2020, at the age of 85.

On August 29, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri, Betty was united in marriage to Carl Eugene Flowers and to this union 3 children were born. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2014. Betty was a charter member of the Trinity Pentecostal Church of God in Fairview Heights, Illinois. She enjoyed church activities, baking, crocheting, knitting, drawing, painting, and many other crafts.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Harley Franklin Flowers, one son-in-law, Mike Kell, and one sister, Anniebelle West. 

Betty is survived by two daughters, Diane Kell of Collinsville, Illinois, and Carla Estrada and husband Leonard of Mayfield, Kentucky, and 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends who will mourn her passing.  

Visitation was Sunday, February 23, 2020 at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri. Funeral services were Monday, February 24, 2020, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri. Pastor Geraldine Rains ministered to the family. Burial was in Redford Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to World Missions.

Arrangements were by McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri.
