Alan ‘Haney’ Franklin Henson

Alan “Haney” Franklin Henson, son of the late Mae Bernadean Dunn and Carl Eugene Henson, was born in Ironton, Missouri, on August 4, 1958. He departed this life at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on February 22, 2020, at the age of 61. 

On November 3, 2001 in Black, Missouri, Haney was united in marriage to Judy Linda Dotson. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2008. Haney was a member of the Black River Baptist Church. He enjoyed trading livestock, woodworking, making dream catchers, buying and selling things, and auctioneering. 

Haney was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one stepdaughter, and one bonus daughter.  

Haney is survived by one son, Shannon Veit and fiancé Chantalle of Jackson, Missouri, one stepdaughter Leah Helenschmidt and husband Andrew of Lesterville, Missouri, three brothers, Wayne Henson and companion Nedra of Black, Missouri, Roger Henson of Bixby, Missouri, and Norman “Shorty” Henson and companion  Jody of Black, Missouri, one sister,  Sharon Brandel and husband Larry of Oak Ridge, Missouri, 4 step grandchildren, five bonus children, Michael Veit, Shaun Veit, Dawn Veit, Nikki Dean and Jason Dean, and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who will mourn his passing. 

Graveside services were  Thursday, Feb. 27, at Carty Cemetery. Pastor Greg Freeman ministered to the family.

Arrangements were by McSpadden Funeral Home, Lesterville, Missouri .
