Cathy Ann Thompson

Cathy Ann Thompson of Middlebrook, Missouri passed away February 21, 2020 at the age of 67 years.  She was born November 9, 1952 in Ironton, Missouri the daughter of Ewell DePriest and Pearl (Smith) DePriest.  Cathy was raised by her mother and stepfather, Willard “Babe” Racer whom she considered her Dad. 

On September 19, 1970 she was united in marriage to Donald Gary Thompson who proceeded her in death on April 18, 2016.  To this union three children were born; Paula Thompson of Graniteville, Missouri, Pamela Hand who proceeded her in death, and Christopher Thompson and fiancé, Leann of Gillette, Wyoming.  Cathy is also survived by her brother; Dennis DePriest and wife, Shirley of Hermann, Missouri, seven grandchildren: Amber, Breezy, Anthony, Freeman, Joshua, Shea, and Caleb.  She also has three great grandchildren: Melia, Jordan, and Addie, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to all of her parents, Cathy was preceeded in death by her daughter, Pamela Hand, her brother, Bill Racer and her sister, Elizabeth Coleman.

Cathy worked as a Billing Specialist for Valley Springs Youth Ranch for the past twenty years.  She enjoyed being a “mother hen” to the children at the ranch.  She also loved spending time and traveling with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They were the joy of her life.  Cathy was a member of the Belleview United Methodist Church.  

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 24, 2020, with Rev. Sherri Squires and Rev. Don Akers officiating.  Visitation was prior to the service.  Interment was in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.brysonfuneralhome.com.
