James (Jim) L. Bass Sr. was born April 19, 1947 in Ironton, MO, to Velmer and Faye Bass. Jim departed this life at his home in Imperial at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 6 days.
On October 15, 1994, Jim was wed to Deborah (Debbie) Short, who survives. Jim enjoyed camping and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved to talk to anyone and never met a stranger. Jim loved his church, Arnold United Baptist, and his church family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie, two sons, James (Jimmy) Jr. and wife Olivia of Ellington, Missouri, and Chris Sadler and wife Shelley of Cedar Hill, Missouri, two daughters, Angie Davis and husband Shawn of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Laurie Sadler of St. Louis, Missouri, one sister, Janice Clinton of Ellington, Missouri, sister-in-law, Sharon Bass of Ellington, Missouri, mother-in-law, Shirley Short, two brother-in-law’s, Dan Short, and John Short and wife Sherry, one sister-in-law, Barbara Roedel, five granddaughters, Courtney, Madison, Kaylie, Abigayle and Brenna, two grandsons, Nathan and Logan, three great-granddaughters, Raine, Arizona, and Cali, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, February 26 at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry)
A second visitation was held on Thursday, February 27, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri .
The funeral was Friday, February 28, at McSpadden Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Patterson ministered to the family.
Burial was in Boss Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wade Crum, Keith Bass, Chris Sadler, Mike Freeman, Travis Bass and Keith Dawson.
