Anthony Donald Woodard

Anthony Donald Woodard, 46, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020. He was born January 25, 1974, in Pocahontas, Ark., to parents Donald Carl and Linda (Elliott) Woodard. Anthony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. 

He was a construction worker for many years. 

On September 25, 1993, he married Denise O’Brien. 

Anthony loved the outdoors, hunting, camping with his family, and he loved being on the river in his boat. He was a hard worker. He also enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family. Besides his children, Anthony’s greatest joy was his grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Woodard. 

Anthony is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years; his children: Michael Anthony Gossard Sr. and wife Samantha of Gatewood, Mo., Briana Woodard and fiancé Eric Bennett of Poplar Bluff, Madison Woodard of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Aubrey Woodard Spencer, Brantley Bennett, Maverick Gossard, Michael Gossard Jr., Oakley Gossard, Olivia Gossard; brothers: Brian Woodard of Van Buren, Benjamin Simpson of Ellsinore; sister: Melissa Gensler and husband Michael of Potosi; and his step-mother: Brenda White. Anthony will be sadly missed by his family and friends. 

Visitation was Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville. Funeral service followed Thursday, also at the Williamsville Chapel. Pastor John England ministered to the family. Jeff Allen, JC Goegel, Terry Groves, Sam O’Brien, Ace Woodard, and Sonny Daily served as pallbearers. Tom Purl and Robin Strange served as Honorary pallbearers. Burial was in Holliday Cemetery, Williamsville.
