Elaine ‘Mrs. Buzz’ Sybil Riden

Elaine “Mrs. Buzz” Sybil Riden of Park Hills, Mo., formerly of Pilot Knob, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 16 days. She was born June 25, 1936 in St. Louis, Mo., to the late David and Della Polinsky Stein. 

In June of 1957, Elaine was united in marriage to Leonard Newmark. To this union three sons were born; Jeffrey Newmark of Park Hills, Mo., Martin Newmark of Louisville, Colo., and Keith Newmark of Israel, all of whom survive. Also surviving is a sister, Harriet Winnerman of Atlanta, Ga., nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. 

Later in life Elaine was united in marriage to Ralph “Buzz” Riden who preceded her in death on April 12, 1994. Also preceding Elaine in death is a sister, Miriam Zabol. 

Elaine received her Bachelor’s Degree in education from Washington University and worked as a Nursery School teacher for several years. She also was a bank teller for a short time, but spent most of her time owning and operating Buzz’s General Store in Pilot Knob, Mo. Elaine was a sweet and caring woman and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Ironton Masonic Cemetery. A Visitation period was held prior to the service at the Cole Family Funeral Home.
