Ellen Huff
Ellen “Poochie” Louise Huff, 82, of Piedmont, entered her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Home. She was born in Piedmont, Mo., on May 13, 1937, to the late Raymond and Opal (Vinson) Mell.
Poochie was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
On November 2, 1963, she was united in marriage to Bill Huff in Patterson, Mo., and to this union one son was born.
Poochie was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and tending to her flowers. She was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church and had been attending the Grace United Methodist Church in Greenville.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers: Billy, Charlie, Richard Mell, and Robert Leach.
Poochie is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-six years; her son, Mark Huff and wife Connie of Piedmont; grandchildren: Ashley Robinson and husband DJ of Dexter, Danielle McFadden and husband Chuck of Poplar Bluff, Hunter Huff of Poplar Bluff; one great-grandson, Carson Robinson; sisters, Iva Lee Mell of Patterson, Ruth Ann Leach and husband Kenny of Patterson; many nieces and nephews. Poochie was known by many, loved by all, and will be dearly missed.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed. Pastor Bill Turner ministered to the family. Mark Huff, Hunter Huff, Chuck McFadden, DJ Robinson, Lori Rhoden, Alex Ruegg and Pastor Bill Turner served as pallbearers. Burial was in Patterson Cemetery.

Aunt Poochie was a loving, wonderful person. Her laughter filled any conversation, and her superb meals filled many hungry stomachs at family gatherings. Full of smiles, always encouraging, and a fine Christian lady. She will be missed.
