Glenda Sue Allen, age 81, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at her home in Piedmont, Mo. She was born December 19, 1938 in Paragould, AR, the only child of Fred Thomas and Carma (Presson) Thomas. Sue received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Library Science from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. and was the librarian at Greenville Schools from 1964 to 1974 and Ellington Schools from 1988 to 2004.
Sue was married to Alvin “Diz” Allen November 1, 1987 and he passed away May 10, 2009. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Carma Thomas. A long time resident of Piedmont, she attended Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include 2 children, Randy Robinson, of Piedmont, Gayla Brinkley and her husband Donald, of Festus, Mo., 2 stepsons, Mike Allen and his wife Kristi, of Piedmont, Rick Allen and his wife Kim, of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Holly Robinson, of Broseley, Mo., Joanna Wilson and her husband James, of Doniphan, Mo., Amy Harrison and her husband Joshua, of Park Hills, Mo., Clayton Brinkley, of Springfield, Mo., and 2 great grandchildren, Page and Anthony Wilson.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, April 5, 2020 with Sue’s granddaughter, Amy Harrison officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Randy Robinson, Donald Brinkley, James Wilson, Joshua Harrison and Clayton Brinkley served as Pall Bearers. Burial was in the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Ark., under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel. Memorials have been requested to the Piedmont Paws or any Animal Rescue Shelter.
