Leslie Eugene Campbell

Leslie Eugene Campbell of Wentzville, Missouri passed away March 29, 2020 at his residence at the age of 91 years.  He was born July 4, 1928 in Pilot Knob, Missouri the son of the late Freeman and Lottie (Mayberry) Campbell.

On May 29, 1948, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Miller who survives.  To this union four children were born; Kenneth Campbell and wife, Kathy of McAllen, Texas, Keith Campbell and wife Sandy of Sarasota, Florida, Elaine Kisker and husband, James of Foristell, Missouri and Alisa Petree and husband, Charles of Waco, Texas.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Leslie was preceded in death by his grandson, Casey Campbell.

Leslie was one of nine children.  He is survived by his sister, Violet (Campbell) Edwards.  He was preceded by his other siblings, Mary, Elsie, Louie, Elmer, Anabelle, Alma, and James.

Leslie was a 1946 graduate of Ironton High School.  He worked as a St. Louis Police Officer in the 1960’s and then as a master carpenter and homebuilder.  Leslie enjoyed spending time with family playing music, especially the mandolin, listening to each of his children play the piano.  He also enjoyed fishing and growing tons of oranges at his grove while living in McAllen, Texas.   

Private graveside services were held on April 1, 2020 at Cove Cemetery with Pastor John Canterberry officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cove Cemetery Association 2497 County Road 37 Ironton, MO  63650.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.brysonfuneralhome.com.
