Alice Jean Goodson
Alice Jean Goodson, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, following a long illness while in hospice care at the home of her beloved niece, Angela Goodson Abbott.
Alice was born May 28, 1950, in Van Buren, Missouri, to Roy and Winifred (Beloate) Goodson. She graduated from Ellington High School in 1967. She attended School of the Ozarks, then moved to Springfield, Mo., in 1969, where she worked in the accounting field for a number of different Springfield businesses, including Foremost Dairy, and Oxford Healthcare, over the ensuing years until her retirement in 2017.
She greatly enjoyed attending the Sac River Cowboy Church during the last few years of her life, and pursuing her hobbies of reading and following St. Louis Cardinals baseball on TV. Declining health initiated by cancer limited her activities during the last years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Owen Goodson. She is survived by her oldest brother Ralph Goodson (Linda), of Springfield, her nieces Angela Goodson Abbott (James), of Rogersville, and Cheryl Goodson, of Carthage, MO, and nephews Greg Goodson (Teresa) of Springfield, Brian Goodson (Tina) of Joplin, Mo., Scott Goodson (Heidi) of Carthage, and Steven Goodson of Fulton, Mo., as well as numerous other relatives.
Arrangements for a memorial service are pending, due to the current pandemic shutdown of most activities in Missouri.
