Maxine Jeannette (Brake) Dettmer

Maxine Jeanette Brake Dettmer was born January 28, 1937 and departed this life on April 28, 2020 at the age of 83 Years and 3 months. Her childhood was spent primarily in the Missouri areas of Weingarten and Pilot Knob. She was married on July 30, 1952 to Jasper W. Dettmer, Jr. of Pilot Knob, and she resided there with her husband for the remainder of her life. During her adult life she, in addition to being a devoted wife and mother of her two daughters, worked as a physician’s office receptionist, a tourist assistant for the Missouri Dept. of Natural resources, and, with her husband, as a restaurant proprietor. Her later years were spent in civic duties for her community where she served several terms as a city alderwoman, and subsequently, several terms as Mayor of her city.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughters, and a sister. To mourn her passing, she leaves her devoted husband of 67 years, 2 brothers, one grandson, one granddaughter, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, a number of nieces nephews ad cousins, as well as a host of friends. A funeral mass date has not yet been set.
