Steven Ray Gant
Steven Ray Gant, son of the late Glenford Ray Gant and Mona Lee Carr, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 17, 1954. He departed this life at his residence in Ellington, Missouri, on April 29, 2020, at the age of 65.
Steven attended the Ellington Light House Temple. He was a Police Officer for 19 years. Steven enjoyed deer hunting, training and running dogs, and gardening with Connie. His greatest joy was spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Glenford Ray Gant.
Steven is survived by his mother, Mona Mooney of Ellington, Missouri, his companion, Connie Rains of Ellington, Missouri, two sons, Clayton Gant and wife Christy of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Caleb Gant and wife Brittani of Eminence, Missouri, one sister, Suzanne Knott of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and 2 grandchildren, William and Gwendolyn Gant. Steven will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation was Monday, May 4, 2020 at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Mo., and the funeral followed. Doug Massie ministered to the family. Burial was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Shannon County Pallbearers were: Jimmy Rhea, Bruce Conway, Chuck Hollis, Billy Wheeler, Jason Meade and Steve Loyd.
In lieu of flowers, send memorials to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
