Ernest Wayne Maize

Ernest Wayne Maize, son of the late Lester Oren Maize and Flossie Irene Lindsey, was born in Madison, Il., on October 24, 1937. He departed this life at his residence in Lesterville, Mo., on April 30, 2020, at the age of 82.

On May 19, 1962 in Lesterville, Mo., Ernest was united in marriage to Virginia Louise Jones and to this union four children were born. Ernest was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed fishing, mowing grass, pitching horseshoes, and whittling. Ernest’s greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family. 

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Blackie, Dick, Lloyd, Jeep and Jake Maize, and two sisters, Pat Fann and Jerry Martin. 

Ernest is survived by his wife, Virginia Maize of Lesterville, Mo., two sons, Gary “Goober” Maize and wife Jolene of Lesterville, Mo., and Brian “Bubba” Maize and wife Catherine of Lesterville, Mo., two daughters, Kathleen Hewitt and husband Jack of Lesterville, Mo., and Tina Murphy and husband Bruce of Defiance, Mo., one brother, Jack Maize of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and one sister, Ethel Lay of Ellington, Mo., and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Ernest will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing.
