Rita Joyce Henson

Rita Joyce Henson, age 72, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020, at her home near Piedmont. She was born April 4, 1948 in Senath, Mo., the daughter of Joseph Gentry and Ollie Mae (Barton) Gentry.

Rita was married to Ronald Henson in 1973 at Poplar Bluff. A long time resident of Piedmont, she owned and operated Piedmont Clips Hair Salon. Rita had attended the Open Word Apolostic Church in Patterson.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Joseph and Ollie Mae Gentry and 2 sons, Donald McKinzie and Rodney Henson.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Henson, of the home, 5 children, Robert Henson and his wife Vikki, of Piedmont, Darlene Webb and her husband Jim, of Cape Girardeau, Claudette Adams, of Piedmont, Edward Henson, of Poplar Bluff, Vickie Simpson, of Poplar Bluff; 2 sisters, Rose Dickinson, of Maryland Heights, Mo. and Roberta Holifield, of Fulton, Mo.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.

Rita will be very deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at the Morrison Chapel in Piedmont with Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Allen Stanfill read the obituary and special recorded songs were played for the service. Zach Henson, Trey Webb, Allen Stanfill, Chad Henson, Dale Bearden and Samuel Bearden served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Little Lake Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel.
