Freda Moline King

Freda Moline King, daughter of the late Fred Brooks and Mary Moffitt Brooks, was born in Ellington, Missouri, on June 23, 1934. She departed this life at her residence in Ellington, Missouri, on May 31, 2020, at the age of 85.

On August 2, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas, Freda was united in marriage to Lloyd King and to this union two children were born. Freda was a member of the Ellington First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing and watching volleyball, and going to the lake and river. Freda loved watching her grandkids play ball. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. 

Freda was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Kimberly King, one brother, Jimmy Brooks, four sisters, Wanda Geist, Dorothy Gastineau, Shirley Gossett, and Sharon Rauls.

Freda is survived by her husband, Lloyd King of Ellington, Missouri, one son, Keith King and wife Christy of Odessa, Texas, four grandchildren, Clayton King, Kyle King, Korey King and wife Paula, Krista Greene and husband Maurice and ten great-grandchildren, Gavinn, Calvin, Brycen, Trenaty, Kaylee, Cameryn, Max, Avery, Anni, and Kingston. Freda will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn her passing. 

Visitation was Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri Funeral services were held Thursday, June 4, 2020, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri.

Ministers were Pastor Jim Stewart, assisted by Dr. Dan Kitinoja.

Pallbearers were Korey King, Brycen King, Clayton King, Jim Rauls, Maurice Greene and Jimmy Burns.

Burial was in Ellington Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Judes Children’s Hospital are requested. 

Arrangements were by McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri.
